I am: Blessed
Are you like me? Do you sometimes forget and need to be reminded of what you know?
Take, for example, this truth. The devil is totally dumb and predictable!
Yes, sometimes I need to be reminded that the devil is dumb – as dumb as a doorknob – pulling out the same old tricks over and over again to trip me up and get me off track! Even though the last chapter of the Bible very clearly tells how things end up (and it ain’t good for the devil!!), he still keeps on like he’s going to be able to change the outcome! What an idiot!
And as far as his attacks on God’s people go, I am of the personal opinion that the devil (having studied me) has designed a few well crafted offensive plays against me targeted at my specific areas of weakness. But over the years, and through the power of Christ, I’ve gotten better at playing defense and even spend a good portion of my days playing offense to gain territory. So imagine my surprise when every so often I find myself loosing ground in my life (maybe even giving in to doubt and fear as a result), when suddenly it dawns on me … I KNOW THIS PLAY!
Oh, I bet you know exactly what I’m talking about! It’s that moment when the light bulb finally goes off in my head and I realize that we’ve already fought this battle once before, and the devil lost! That’s when my spirit-man rises up and I determine in my heart, mind, soul and body to put on the armor of God and TAKE BACK any territory lost in the previous plays, and start pressing on again towards the victorious finish line God has purposed for me through Jesus Christ!
Well, last night just as I was getting ready for bed I felt prompted to begin reminding myself of the promised blessings of God upon and over my life. Under that leading, this morning I got up extra early and with a cup of coffee in hand began to study on the Word of God and about its promises for Gods blessing and provision for my life. Then I flipped on a little DayStar TV and caught the last few minutes of Joyce Meyer sharing a funny word-picture of angels fluttering around you and I, just waiting (listening attentively or ‘harkening’) for us to proclaim (as in speak audibly and thereby claim) God’s word over our lives … and that a lot of them were probably bored to death because we weren’t saying anything! Talk about God-timing! So in obedience to good teaching, I decided to take it to a ‘whole nother level’ and I personalized a number of the scriptures I read earlier in the morning and began to speak them out loud over myself and my circumstances. This was so faith-building that even though I am in the midst of crafting different “I AM” post, I wanted to go ahead and share this with you now.
Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word. – Psalm 103:20 (Amplified)
The following personalizations of scripture are just that – personalizations. I encourage you to study for yourself what Gods Word has to say about his blessing and provision over your life. There are many excellent resources on the subject, including The Blessed Life by Robert Morris.
But for now, I invite you to begin building up your faith by speaking these scriptures over yourself, your life, your family, your household, your finances, your career, your ministry, etc. The Word says that angels harken the voice of God’s Word. I say lets give them something to listen to! And then let’s go TAKE BACK SOME TERRITORY!
Be blessed!
